September 2017

The summer is over and school started up again! The couple weeks or so of September was still break and I was at home. It was nice to get to spend extra time with my family due to hurricane Irma. All of the students here received and extra week of time off because of the storm. It ended up we almost had a month of time off. I am grateful that during this time there were more opportunities for me to talk with people in Larned and to spend quality time with my family. My mom and I finished a project putting together a patio; I had nice talks with my dad, fun visits with my brother and time with some pals. It was sad to go but I was ready to get back into the swing of things.

When the students arrived back at the base we all took our things and put them into our new rooms with our new roommates. This term I have two roommates, Shawna and Alexandria. They are both new students who started at the beginning of this term. It’s been nice to get to know them so far, please pray for everybody’s adjustment to being here at school. The students also had the opportunity to spend time at the Petersen household one evening for our weekly vespers (Bible Study and Fellowship). It was really cool to share stories about how God worked in our lives this summer and to hear what He did with the other teams that went out. Mr. Steve and Mrs. Gay are on staff and they are such an example and encouragement to us students. The students and interns went to the beach one Saturday morning to watch the sunrise and do our devotions there. It was really neat and I had the opportunity to witness to an Italian man about Christ just as I was finishing my devotions. After evangelizing all summer, I felt as if I did not have very many opportunities to speak with people. It was encouragement from Christ to talk to him and it came right when I needed it.

"Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart."

                                                                                                  Colossians 4:2 NLT

This term we are taking Prophecy 1, Synthesis 3 (1 Samuel-Esther), Biblical Geography, Music, Doctrine 3 and Church History 3. So far my favorite class is either, Music, Church History, Synthesis 3 or maybe Prophecy 1. This is a hard term and some say the hardest term at BMW in regards to the work load. It has been tiring and tough getting adjusted to being back at school but Jesus is teaching us all endurance and perseverance in our faith through it. He is always faithful and we as believers have to remember that God is in control and knows the whole picture even when the going gets tough!
