January 2019!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Lots of crazy stuff has happened within the 1 1/2 weeks! Jesus showed Himself clearly, gave peace, encouragement and provided through the journey of hospitals and doctors. Friends, family, prayers and fellow missionaries have been a huge blessing and I am joyful to see the help I graciously received from the body of Christ!

It started last Fri night when I wasnt feeling good at the south base. In the morning I thought my pain on the right of my torso would go away. Noonish, I knew I needed to go to a doctor. On the way the motorbike broke 7-8 times and then it gave up completely. Jesus provided and a man on the side of the road drove us to the clinic as my pain was worse. I was there from about 12:30-7:30pm. The clinic wasn't reliable and after tests and meds I still was in pain and weak. My friend Bong Ya came to help around 1pm. That night a nice doctor from the clinic sent me to a hospital in Kampong Chhnang. From there another missionary from Malaysia helped transport Bong Ya, her and I to Phnom Phen, 2 hours away. We were afraid it might be appendicitis. There I went to the ER at a Japanese hospital. I went back there in the morning again for tests and again a few days later. Overall, the doctors there were not positive, they misdiagnosed me and put me on some meds. Hannah drove down before the 3rd time I was at that hospital.
We drove back up to Siem Reap a few days later. The pain still wasnt gone a few days later with the meds. Another missionary family we know started to help then. The parents used to be nurses in Germany. They were concerned that I still had an issue and helped me by consulting their doctor friend in Phnom Phen. After that I went to the hospital here in Siem Reap. Hannah and Bong Hai helped me that day and they found out I have Gastrointeritus, Colitis, a cyst and fluid in my right ovary. I stayed the night but my ovary still hadn't been taken care of. Hannah and I flew to Thailand's Bangkok Hospital a few days later. There the doctor (wearing cross earings) found the exact problem and put me on meds. Praise Jesus, I'm okay and resting a few days before work again! So much more I could say and testimonies I could give but I'm out of room! @ Bangkok, Thailand

Getting married in Cambodia? ...No
Being promoted to princess? ...No
Or just going to a fancy wedding? ...No

Just went for a fun cultural experience at a local photo studio! Our friend, Sister Ny, told us about this cool opportunity for people to go get their hair and make up done and be completely dressed in traditional Khmer clothing and get some pictures! It was quite the experience and a fun one at that! Really cool to be dressed in the traditional Khmer wear and to understand the ordeal they go through to get all dolled up! Praise the Lord for the opportunity. Glad we did it, something I won't forget.

Also, at the end there, just a picture of my puppy!
