February 2018

Jeedu joined the party!

      Hey there everyone! Another month has passed and God is working. This past month has been a busy one school wise and a challenging month in general too. I thank the Lord that He is faithful and still continues to work in my life despite my humanness. How are you all doing?

      Thank you to everyone praying for me about school and about my internship to Cambodia. The Lord is providing and I have a little over $2,000 out of $11,000 for my internship and a little over $500 out of $3,700 for my team to Mongolia this summer. The Lord provides for my needs and He often reminds me I need to continue to trust in Him and not worry. Please tell me how I can be praying for you or your family! That is something I want to grow in and to do.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are
my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

       February had a few Vespers (bible study/fellowship time) that were memorable. One of our Vespers at the beginning of the month was hosted by the Besosa's. We all spent some time eating ice cream and talking in the dining room. It was a nice time of fellowship. Another memorable one was at the end of the month when Mindy put on a Vespers. The staff came and played games with us and we ate more ice cream. Mr. Paul and Mrs. Beth brought their Great Dane Sadie! It was neat to have the dog around for a bit. It made me miss my doggies.

         Another fun thing that happened this month was getting Jeedu! Jeedu is a Beta fish that Hannah F. bought for Shawna. She had a fish from property here one night and it died so she wanted to get her a new fish. Now Jeedu sits in the lounge and all the students get to see him. Shawna named him Jedu because it means teal in Japanese.

I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
    therefore I will wait for him.”

 The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;
it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord

Lamentations 3:24-26 NIV

        At the end of the month the student body took a trip to Orlando area and we saw a Christian Comedian. Micheal Jr. did a stand up show and he is also a believer. He talked about Jesus too and that was cool. It was really nice to get out and we went to a Wendy's after the show.

       As far as what the Lord is teaching me, He is reminding me how important it is to pray and to trust Him. In all honesty this term has been hard. I'm thankful that we only have one week left. The Lord has still been faithful and taken care of us in difficulty. He reminds me to look back and remember the times He has been faithful and how He provides. I'm challenged lots of times to be an example and have joy in hard circumstances. God, please receive the glory for the work you are doing!

Look to the Lord and his strength;

seek his face always.

                                               1 Chronicles 16:11 NIV
