As you all know, I have been having some issues with my health. Last time I updated you I told you about the trip to Bangkok. Thanks for your prayers!

Celebrating God's provision with a coffee

Since then I had a follow up appointment here in Siem Reap and found out that more cysts had grown. However, with prayer, much contact from friends, family, fellow missionaries and the doctor, I found that it is actually quite common for females to have this sort of problem. In fact, in high school I had some issues with ovarian cysts myself and so did my mom! Praise the Lord, the specialist I had seen in Bangkok was nice enough to communicate with me via email. She explained her thoughts and simply recommended that I start a 3 month round of contraceptives and that contraceptives was the normal treatment for this. The doctor in Siem Reap had recommended the same thing to me as well. As far as the pain below my rib cage goes, it is there on and off and is dull. I have heard from others in my church that they had stomach pains when they had ovarian cysts. So right now I am taking the contraceptives and seeing how my stomach feels after a few weeks on that medicine. If it helps, great! If not, that is okay. It just means we could be taking another quick trip to see a good doctor in Bangkok. I'm grateful that God has provided quality and affordable healthcare for me! I am not worried in all of this because I have seen God's hand taking care of me, leading and providing for me.

So What's the Big News?

As of February 22nd, I am an independent missionary doing missions in Cambodia and no longer a part of Teen Missions International. It's quite a long and complicated story. To make it simple and to the point, my parents and I were not able to make decisions for my health. After trying to communicate with the headquarters it was unable to be resolved. Even though this was unexpected, God gave me a very real peace in making this decision. It was made with lots of prayer and advise from my parents and my church. If you have any questions regarding this change, I'm willing to talk with you!

Hannah also resigned before me for different reasons and Sister Sinoun (staff here) resigned for different reasons a few days later. You can check out Hannah's update as well if you would like.

So what happened after that? Well we had 4 days to leave the premises, so the first thing was finding a place to live! Praise God for the good friends that let us know that they were willing to allow us to stay with them if we needed to. We spent many hours searching for a new place to live. After three full days it started to become a bit discouraging. Throughout this I had something in my head that was telling me, "I could see God providing at the last minute to teach me to have faith." I had heard many stories like that before and so it wasn't over till the fat lady sang! It was the 4th day and we had gone to look at three places that day already. The last place we looked at was not perfect but was the best that we had seen and I was thinking that in a few hours that we would call the owner back and tell her yes. However, we had one more house to see that day. I told my friend Sister Sinoun that the next place would have to be a miracle for us to say no to the most recent place. Well, Jesus did. It was the last place we had scheduled to see and man, He did provide a true miracle! The only thing we knew about the place was that it had 3 bedrooms and that it allowed dogs. We also only received one picture of the outside. Going in to check it out we were blown away at God's provision! It was everything we needed and even more, and below our budget!

What's Next?

Well, our desire is to serve the Lord and we still want to do ministry! We are praying for the Lord's continual guidance and leading, as we want to follow Him. Praying, it feels that it's too soon to hop into another ministry and commit. However, we know that there are many ministries here that need volunteers to help them with different things one or two times a week. Things like teaching English here and in villages, guitar lessons and such. So we are praying and beginning to speak with different people we know about opportunities to volunteer throughout the week.. We also have some ideas about ministry that we can be doing on our own. God is providing like He has with everything else in this situation. Please pray God will continue to guide and lead the way in the ministries He wants us to do!

Welcome Home and Happy Birthday!

Praise God we got everything moved in with enough time to have a Birthday party for Sister Sinoun as well as a house warming party! It was nice to have friends over and we had a good time celebrating God's provision and Sister Sinoun!
